Born in 1982 in Brussels, Belgium,
I have studied ingeneering at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, and specialized in photonics during a 6-month stay at the Ecole Superieure d'Optique, in Orsay (France). I graduated "cum laude" in 2005. My master thesis was entitled "Four Wave Mixing in 1D Photonic Crystals".
I then came to Italy, first for a one-year master program: "Material Science for micro- and nanotechnologies", at IUSS in Pavia. I then joined the group of Diederik S. Wiersma at LENS, in Florence, where i made my Ph.D.
During this Ph. D. i mainly worked on light transport in disordered systems. I studied superdiffusion of light as well as localization and sub-diffusion of light. I also worked on optical bistability in superlattices. I defended my Ph.D. Thesis in February 2010.
