About

I am a Digital Scholarship Librarian at the Center for Advancement of Digital Scholarship at Kansas State University, and my primary responsibilities include education, consultations, and outreach on copyright law as well as related topics and issues. I also assist the center with the open online scholarly publishing platform, New Prairie Press, and the institutional repository, K-State Research Exchange, or K-REx. I help lead initiatives on open access, such as the Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative and the K-State Open Access Publishing Fund, for which I am an application reviewer. I graduated with my Master of Library Science from Emporia State University where I was previously a Graduate Research Assistant for Dr. Sarah Sutton. I have joined Dr. Sutton's research team, where I continue to present at conferences, write papers, and analyze data for two national surveys; the studies provide an assessment of the awareness and use of traditional, citation-based metrics, usage data, and alternative metrics, or altmetrics, among academic librarians and LIS scholars in the United States.
