About

Rafael Libanori was born in Cosmopolis, SP, Brazil in January, 26th 1983. In 2003, he started a Chemistry Bachelor Course in UFSCar, São Carlos. During his undergraduated studies, he joined Prof. Edson Leite´s research group at LIEC/UFSCar working with photodegradation kinetics of organic dyes using TiO2 nanoparticles as photocatalysts. In 2007, he started a Master course in the Materials Engineering Department under supervision of Prof. Edson Leite. His Master research project was related with synthesis and characterization of polyurethane-based molecular composites. Rafael received his Masters degree in February, 2009 and in July, 2009, he started to work under supervision of Prof. André Studart at ETH Zurich. Currently, he is working with composite materials with hierarchical structures.
