I am a Senior Lecturer in construction management and civil engineering. I moved to the Department of Built Environment, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, LJMU after working as a researcher and lecturer at Teesside University. I have more than 10 years of professional experience in the construction industry, focusing on project planning and scheduling, progress reporting and valuation, and construction site management; in addition to academic experience, particularly in research and teaching in the higher education. I worked as a Project Control Manager of Asian game village complex in Qatar and Project Manager of road project in Sri Lanka. I also worked as a District Engineer in DWSS, Nepal and ran my own consultancy business. Currently, I am teaching at all levels as a module leader and also involving in both internal & external events associated with research, learning and teaching.
My research interest areas are project planning, scheduling and controlling; project risk management, sustainable construction; IT applications in construction: 4DBIM, virtual reality(VR); visualisation and simulation, earthwork planning and resource optimisation. I have supervised more than thirty postgraduate students and examined a PhD student as an external examiner. I have an excellent record of accomplishment of research in aspects of construction project management and civil engineering. I have published several research papers in the reputed journals and conference proceedings. I am also engaged as a reviewer in the international conferences such as CONVR, ARCOM and peer review journals like ECAM, CME, AIC, IJPM. I am an incorporate member of Chartered Institute of Building (ICIOB), a Certified Civil Engineer (CEng) , and the Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
