Ranjit am a PhD candidate at the Department of Science and Technology Studies at Cornell University. His current focus of research is geared towards understanding the political logic of the large-scale Biometrics project happening in India (Aadhaar) and how it has been rationalized within Indian governance with the formulation of UIDAI. He has finished a research masters program called Cultures of Arts, Science and Technology (CAST) at the University of Maastricht. Trained at the Undergraduate level as an engineer in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), he has worked on issues revolving around Healthcare and Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D). He has been journalist for Daily News Analysis, a National Daily in India and he has worked as a Research Associate in the End-user Ethnographic Studies Vertical of Technopak, a market studies consultancy group in India. His research interests are narratives, science fiction, games and learning, knowledge management and science and technology studies.
