About

I have lived and conducted my research throughout the Brazilian Amazon since 1984. I study the ecology of Amazonian savannas, forest fires and carbon cycle of tropical forests. My studies help to understand environmental dynamics of forest and non forest ecosystems in Amazonia. Currently, I am leading a research group established in Boa Vista, Roraima, Brazil.
