Ricardo Assunção has completed his PhD degree in Veterinary Sciences, by the Institute for Advanced Studies and Research, University of Évora, Portugal in 2017. The main topics of his research included risk assessment of chemical contaminants, food toxicology, mycotoxins and chemical mixtures. During his Master degree project he implemented the method for detection of Enterobacter sakazakii in Powdered Infant Formulas, at National Institute of Health Dr. Ricardo Jorge (National Public Health Institute). Ricardo is post-graduated in Quality Management and Food Safety by Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde Egas Moniz. Currently, Ricardo Assunção is Researcher at Food and Nutrition Department of National Institute of Health Dr. Ricardo Jorge, Lisbon, Portugal. The main research areas include Risk Assessment, Food Safety and Public Health. Ricardo Assunção participates in different National and International research projects and is author and co-author of several peer-reviewed articles.
