Ricardo Roque holds a D.Phil. in History from the University of Cambridge (2007), a MA in Historical Sociology (2000) and a BA in Sociology (1996) from the New University of Lisbon.He is Research Fellow at Institute of Social Sciences, University of Lisbon (since 2008), and a Research Associate at the Centre of South Asian Studies, University of Cambridge. He has been University Lecturer (1999-2007) and Assistant Professor (2007-08) in Sociology at University of Azores, Portugal; Affiliated Researcher at Papua New Guinea National Museum and Galleries, PNG (2003); Visiting Researcher at Casa Oswaldo Cruz-FIOCRUZ, Brazil (2002); and Visiting Scholar at the Department of Portuguese and Brazilian Studies, Brown University, USA (1997).
