      Richard L. Dixon has recently finished a stint working for a U.S. Military Contractor called DG 21 LLC on the Island of Diego Garcia, BIOT (British Indian Ocean Territory) for the U.S. Navy Support Facilities. He was responsible for the daily operations of their MWR (Morale, Welfare, & Recreation) Club System in the capacity as Food & Beverage Operations Manager. At present, he is the Food & Beverage Manager/Executive Kitchen Manager for Apache Gold Casino & Resort which is located in San Carlos, AZ. He is happily married to a wonderful wife (named Constance Dixon), has 5 kids (four girls and one boy) ages 22 to 3 years, and currently resides in Peoria, IL. Mr. Dixon has over twenty years of experience in the Hospitality/Foodservice by serving in various capacities such as Executive Chef, F & B Director, Restaurant General Manager, Hospitality Consultant, and District Manager. Throughout his hospitality career, Mr. Dixon has successfully managed and directed staffs from 50 to 250 employees with working annual budgets of $2.5 Million - $15 million dollars. Mr. Dixon has successfully built dining venues from the ground up or in a built-out stage. In addition, he has turned around troubled enterprises and has returned them to profitability in six states and two foreign countries. He has lived and traveled the globe as a member of the US military (6 years US Army) and as a private citizen from the Federal Republic of Germany, to France, Canada, Singapore, Philippines, Guam, and now Diego Garcia, BIOT (British Indian Ocean Territory) He believes that these experiences have broadened his scope to the different cultures, languages, races, and customs that make up our world. He believes that if we understood each a little better through communication and consultation, there would be less conflict. Mr. Dixon graduated from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana in 1982 with a BA in History/Political Science and is currently pursuing a graduate degree in International with a concentration in Conflict Resolution from American Military University in Charles Town, West Virginia In the past, he has participated and become involved in the following political campaigns: Fred Upton (Congressman for the 8th District), Chuck Perricone (State representative for the 61st District), and Joe Gaige (Candidate for State representative for the 60th District). He has had the distinction of being listed as one of the top fast raising Black Republicans (in a black Conservative Monthly called Visions Magazine). He has appeared several times as a guest representing the black conservative perspective on a show telecasting out of Grand Rapids, MI on WZZM called Black Perspectives. He served briefly as the campaign manager for Cornell Mathis who made an unsuccessful run in the Republican Primary for the 8th District County Commissioner Seat in Kalamazoo; MI. Mr. Dixon has had essays published over the years in such online magazines as TWBT (The Black World Today).
