DR. ROSABEL ROIG-VILA has a Ph.D. in Pedagogy and is currently a lecturer [in Spanish: “Profesora Titular”] at the University of Alicante, Spain, where she was Dean at the Faculty of Education. She specializes in ICT and Education, and has published a number of learned papers and monographies and given various lectures on the subject (in Spain and abroad). She is Editor of Journal of New Approaches in Educational Research (NAER), http://naerjournal.ua.es/. She is the coordinator of E-ACCESIBLE PROJECT, awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (Ref. IPT-430000-2010-29); and she is the researcher-in-chief for ICT and Education R+D of IVITRA (http://www.ivitra.ua.es) and Digicotracam Project (http://www.digicotracam.ua.es), in the frame of Prometeus Program of Research Groups on R+D of Excellence sponsored by the Regional Goverment of Valencia and the ERDF-EU (Ref. Prometeo-2009-042).
She has received several awards, such as the “Education and Society Award” (1995) from the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science, and the “Premio Extaordinario de Doctorado” at the University of Alicante. She has participated in research projects in Spanish institutions and the European Union. She coordinates the “Edutic” (http://www.edutic.ua.es), Articua (http://www.artic.ua.es) and Eduonline (http://www.eduonline.ua.es) educational and research networks.
