Saeed Tavakoli received his BSc and MSc degrees in electrical engineering from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran in 1991 and 1995, respectively. In 1995, he joined the University of Sistan and Baluchestan, Iran. Dr Tavakoli earned his PhD degree in electrical engineering from the University of Sheffield, England in 2005.
As an associate professor at the University of Sistan and Baluchestan, his research interests include, but are not limited to, PID control, control of time delay systems, robust control, multi-objective optimization, evolutionary algorithms, wireless communications, active and semi-active control of structures, space mapping optimization, and jet engine control.
Dr Tavakoli has published more than 45 papers in peer-reviewed journals and 55 conference papers. He has served as a reviewer for several journals including IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, IET Control Theory & Applications, Applied Soft Computing, Journal of the Franklin Institute, Applied Mathematical Modelling, ISA Transactions, Applied Mathematics and Computation, Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration, Computers & Industrial Engineering, Electric Power Components and Systems, Swarm and Evolutionary Computation and a number of international conferences.
