I am a Researcher and a PhD Candidate, whose research interests are widely connected to digital environments, organizations, and organizing. I wish to contribute to the understanding of the role digital communication plays in the society as well as in the transformations of economic, social, and cultural life. Currently I am working as a researcher in two projects both related to computational analysis of social media data.
Cyber Elections 2015 (Digivaalit 2015, funded by Helsingin Sanomat Foundation) is a multidisciplinary research project where we study normalization and agenda building in the online public sphere around the 2015 Finnish Parliament Elections using computation social science methods and big data sets. See https://www.hiit.fi/digivaalit-2015
Citizen Mindscapes (funded by a Technology Industries of Finland Centennial Foundation) is a projects where we are analyzing a data set of 70 million comments extracted from Suomi24, a popular Finnish online discussion forum. My own sub project is to mine mentions and discussions regarding Finnish listed companies from the data and analyze how they correspond to corporate reputation surveys.
I am also finalizing my PhD thesis on the narratives of reputation in the online public sphere. Previously, I worked in multidisciplinary research projects on digital reputation and its connections with emotional reactions.
I am strongly inclined to interdisciplinary work and creating new courageous research plans and collaborations, as well as developing the research community. In all my work I combine the urge for theoretical development of organizational communication with a more practical orientation of understanding online communications and environments from both organizational and societal viewpoints.
