Sara Gandini is a senior investigator (vice-director) at the division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, at the European Institute of Oncology in Milan (Italy) providing constant consultation in a wide range of areas including statistical design of experiments and clinical trials, protocol development, analysis of data and interpretation of results. I conducted extensive research in cancer epidemiology, including systematic reviews and meta-analyses. In the last years her main interest has been in melanoma epidemiology and on the role of Vitamin D in cancer epidemiology. She is the lead organizer of a multicentre Italian trial on Vitamin D supplementation for melanoma patients and a trial on Vitamin D and microbiota for colorectal cancer. Her multiple expertise in the field of cancer epidemiology and biomarkers, in primary and secondary prevention, is helpful in projects aimed to integrate and assess the importance of epidemiological factors in translational and clinical research.
