About

Satoshi Makita received his BE, ME and PhD degrees from Yokohama National University, Japan in 2005, 2007, 2010, respectively. He joined National Institute of Technology, Sasebo College as an assistant professor assigned to Dept. of Control Engineering in 2010, and was appointed to a lecturer in 2012. He was nominated as a finalist of Best Manipulation Paper Award in IEEE Int. Conf. on Robotics and Automation 2013, and won IEEE Robotics and Automation Society Japan Chapter Young Award in IEEE/RSJ Int. Conf. on Intelligent Robots and systems 2008. His research interests are robotic manipulation, prosthetic hands and biomechanics of human hands. He is a member of RSJ, JSME, JSPO, IEEE/RAS and ISB.
