About

Dr. TEMEL earned his Ph.D. from Dokuz Eylul University, Department of Economics. He has been working as a researcher at Ege University Science Technology Center since 2000 and is responsible for university-industry cooperation, technology transfer, R&D, and innovation projects. Between 2004 and 2008, Dr. TEMEL has worked as manager of the Aegean Innovation Relay Centre (IRC-Ege), which was one of the centers within the European Union Commission. Established by the IRC Network, this center was chosen most successful Technology Transfer Office in the network by the EU commission and Ege University Technology Transfer Office (EBİLTEM-TTO) in 2013. Dr. TEMEL is currently the Manager of the EBIC-Ege, which has been established as part of the Enterprise Europe Network and Chairing Textile and Fashion Sector Group. Dr. Serdal TEMEL served as Netherland Senior Expert Program regional contact point between 2007 and 2013 to provide mentoring and coaching services with the help of Dutch Experts. Dr. TEMEL has run 3 national innovation projects namely “Defining the Innovation Level of Aegean Region SMEs” (202 Companies) financed by TUBITAK, 2008-2010, “Izmir Innovation Strategy Report” (700 Companies) financed by Izmir Development Agency (IZKA) and 2011-2012, “Defining the Innovation Level of Izmir Commodity Exchange Members” (67 Companies) financed by Izmir Commodity Exchange (ITB), 2012-2013. Dr. TEMEL has two book chapters; Open Innovation and Measurement for Innovation published by McGraw-Hill, over 20 articles and on innovation, R&D, and university-industry collaboration published in the International Journal of Innovation Science (IJIS), Journal of Technology Management& Innovation (JOTMI), International Journal of Innovation Management (IJIM) and The International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (IJEI). In addition to current tasks, Dr. Temel is the Vice-Editor of the Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management (JEIM).
