In my thesis (2006) I have studied the evolution of complex networks under a statistical physics point of view. In particular, we have proposed for the first time the study software networks and characterized their scale-free nature . As the outcome of my PhD I have published a dozen articles, two of them have been cited more than 60 times. During 2004-2007 I was contracted for the european project DELIS (FP6) in the Complex Systems Lab of Prof. Ricard Sole (University Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, and External Faculty, SFI), where I have been also working in the european projects PACE and ECAgents (FP6). In all these projects, I have extended my previous studies in technological networks to other systems, including language networks and biological networks. I have developed several software tools for the analysis and visualization of complex networks, which are discussed in my book "Handbook of Complex Networks" (to be published by Oxford University Press, 2009). From 2006-2008 I was a CNRS post-doc in the Centre de Recherches sur la Cognition Animale under the supervision of Prof. Guy Theraulaz (University Paul Sabatier, Toulouse) where I am investigating termite nest networks obtained from 3-D tomographic scans. Since 2008, I am assistant professor at the University Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona. I also work as an independent evaluator for the European Commision (I have participated in the evaluation of more than 20 projects). Until 2009, I have published some 25 papers with approximately 200 citations.
