About

Shanoé T. Smith was born and raised in Rockland County, New York and is of Jamaican descent. In 2005, she moved to Stone Mountain, Georgia. She attended Mercer University in Macon, GA for a year before transferring to Kennesaw State University in the fall of 2008. Shanoé is currently a senior at KSU, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Spanish. She has made the President's list for fall 2008, and the Dean's list for spring, summer, and fall 2009 at KSU. She works part-time at KSU's Horace W. Sturgis Library as a Student Assistant in the Circulation Department. She has held this position for three years (since transferring to KSU). Shanoé is involved in many student organizations on campus. She has served as Secretary of the KSU Young Democrats. Also, Shanoé has served as Secretary of the KSU African American Student Alliance, a line-item organization, for two years. Recently, she was awarded the Dr. Jerome Ratchford Award for Student Engagement by the KSU department of Student Life at their Golden O's Award Ceremony.
