About

I am Seed Ecologist, graduated from Kumaun University and Forest Research Institute in India and had about 5 years postdoctoral research experience at VUB, Belgium, Hokkaido University, Japan (JSPS Fellow), and Regensburg University, Germany (Alexander von Humboldt Experienced Researcher). Currently working as an Assistant Professor of Forestry at H N B Garhwal University, India. My research interest is to investigate the eco-physiological life-history traits of plant species from different habitats (wetland to woodland), and with different life-cycle and life-forms, with particular reference to plant regeneration from seeds. More specifically, I am interested to study the seed germination ecology, dormancy, seed storage physiology and other related functional (persistence, regeneration, dispersibility) traits of wild plants, in order to use them for biodiversity conservation and as a tool for climate change research to better understand assemblage of the plant ecosystems.
