    About

I currently work within the Financial Systems area. My career has been predominantly within Banking though I have had exposure to the Telecommunications Industry. The work I am interested in and spend my time researching is mostly SWARM based problems and the use of natural animal behaviour, crowd behaviour, and collective intelligence to solve optimisation problems. I am currently reading more about networks and ecosystems to incorporate these into the optimisation work in my current profession. I would like to use SWARM and flocking methods and apply these to the way financial prices are monitored and publicised. I believe pricing tools and calculators could be enhanced with these approaches also and look to working on this in the future. My telecommunications experience was based within targeted marketing and business intelligence. Using various methods and approaches from some of the Santa Fe Institute I found this work very interesting and useful. The business gained better understanding of their customer base and the right customers were approached with the information more relevant to them. The computational tools I use vary from C# to script based programs. I would like to incorporate more natural studies into my work.
