About

Simon Lacey, originally of Sydney Australia, read law at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland, and graduated with a joint bachelor’s/master’s degree in law and European law. After graduating, Mr. Lacey worked at a large commercial law firm in Zurich, before joining the World Trade Institute in Berne, where he held various positions, including Director of Studies and Director of Training Programs. In 2006, Mr. Lacey moved to Asia, taking up a position as visiting researcher at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy of the National University of Singapore. After becoming increasingly involved in different consulting assignments in the region for various donor organizations, he opted to move to Jakarta in 2007, in order to take up a position as legal advisor in the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, where he stayed until the end of 2008. In January 2009 Simon moved to Cape Town South Africa to join the then newly formed practice of Trade Law Chambers, as Senior Trade Advisor (legal). In November of 2009, he moved to China to Hangzhou, in Zhejiang province. In September 2010 Simon moved again, this time to the United States (Sacramento, CA).
