About

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at Carnegie Mellon University. I work in direct metal additive manufacturing processes with main focus on the electron and laser powder bed fusion processes. My work so far is related to understanding the effect of processing parameters on part microstructure and porosity that affect the final properties. In relation to that, I have developed techniques that enable location specific control of microstructure in powder bed fusion processes and eliminate porosity resulting from the process parameters. I have experience using finite element modeling, designing and executing experiments for process parameter development and process control. I use optical microscopy, SEM, and EBSD for material characterization. I also have experience working on projects involving mechanical testing of the additively manufactured parts. I have over 3 years of experience working with industry and university level collaborators and I am certified to use the Arcam and EOS equipment.
