About

Suyi Li earned his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Michigan with the honor of Summa Cum Laude. He later earned his Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering at the Pennsylvania State University. He is currently back to UM and works with Dr. Kon-Well Wang at the Structure Dynamics and Controls Lab. Suyi's main research focus on the novel material called Fluidic Flexible Matrix Composite (F2MC) inspired by plant cell wall. He collaborates with researchers from the fields of mechanical, chemical engineering, material science and plant biology. He strives to develop new analytical tools to study the dynamical behavior of multi-cellular F2MC structure, as well as to provide insight on the growth behavior of plant cells.
