Thiago Falcão is a Ph.D. Student at Federal University of Bahia, in Brazil, working on the topics of gaming and sociability through digital media. His current research consists of an analysis and critique of the game culture through the lens of sociology, specially concerning the works of the likes of Erving Goffman and Georg Simmel and the relation between agency and structure. He is a member of the Interaction, Technology and Society Research Group (GITS / and of the Cibercities Research Group (GPC / He is currently doing part of his research at McGill University, in Montreal, as part of the PDSE (Sandwich) Scholarship provided by Capes (
