About

I am broadly interested in the relationship between ecosystem structure and function. More specifically, I am interested in how anthropogenic influences change the dynamics of this relationship within stream ecosystems and, ultimately, the translation of this knowledge into restoration actions. I am currently studying this question in urban streams across the state of Maine. As a participant in the University of Maine’s Sustainability Solutions Initiative, I am also interested in employing the framework of complex social ecological systems as a means to better explain biogeochemical and ecological patterns whose drivers are not fully explained by standard biogeochemical or ecological variables.
