About

Tim studied sociology at the Utrecht University. He obtained his master degree in sociology (cum laude) at Utrecht University in 2010. Tim´s main research interests are populism, radical right extremism, political participation, voting behavior, political sociology and the sociology of religion. He is currently working as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Sociology department of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. In his doctoral dissertation, he studied the mobilizing potential of populist radical right parties in contemporary Western and Eastern European democracies.
