About

Timothy Johnson's research specialty is GIS, remote sensing, and data analysis, working on a wide range of issues often related to land-cover change, crop production, and irrigation. Prior to joining IFPRI as a Senior Research Assistant in the Environment and Production Technology Division, Timothy completed a M.S. in Environmental Informatics from the University of Michigan School of Natural Resources and Environment (Ann Arbor, MI) in 2014. His thesis was on land-cover change and classification accuracy improvement of Primorsky Krai, Russia from 1975-2010 using Landsat imagery.
