About

Current research studies are focused on the characterization of the effects induced by different neurotoxins and inflammogens in a rat model of Parkinson’s disease. The investigations are focused on the relationships existing between physiological, structural and biochemical data collected during the early stage of the evolution of the induced neurodegeneration, as well as after the complete establishment of the neurodegeneration. To correlate multidimensional data to have a biological marker useful to anticipate the diagnosis time window of PD, the experimental setup provides: assessment of the spontaneous and pharmacological-induced motor asymmetries, high resolution ex vivo MRI analysis and histo/immunohistochemical analysis.
