Research interests

Perceptions in information systems alignment in Chinese SMEs. Development of Western research instruments to suit context. Perceptions of students and teachers in seminar interactions. Sport promotion and development in China.

I have been with The University of Nottingham since 2004, when I assisted with the initial set-up of the China campus. My professional qualifications and experience were initially gained in taxation and accounting, working for the UK government and then in accounting practice, specialising in the music and entertainment industry. Subsequently I have trained and consulted in accounting, information systems and taxation to a diverse portfolio of mainly European organisations. More recently, I worked in accounting information systems design and development with Open Systems, Minnesota, USA, delivering a wide range of software product, mainly focussed on the manufacturing and service industries. I have a Masters in International Business and am currently working on my PhD in Information Systems where I am examining alignment between business processes and information systems in Chinese SMEs. On the lighter side, I am also a certified rugby coach and have experience coaching various forms of the game, both men and women, at all levels from mini to provincial representative sides.
