DR. SYED TUFAIL HUSSAIN SHAH BRIEF CITATION Dr. Syed Tufail Hussain Shah is a Professor at the National Centre of Excellence in Analytical Chemistry, University of Sindh, Jamshoro, Pakistan. He holds Ph. D from the same institution on “Quantitative Analysis of Fatty Acid Composition of Some Vegetable Oils by 13C-NMR and Chromatographic Methods”. After his Ph.D (1997), Dr. Sherazi started his carrier from edible oil industries and he worked at responsible posts in Edible Oil and Oilseed Processing Industries. He was the General Manager in the Edible Oil Industry when left the industry and joined the National Centre of Excellence in Analytical Chemistry in 2004. In 2005, he went to Singapore (Agilent Technologies) for one week training on GC-MS. He learned the operation of GC-MS and application of modern GC-MS in the various fields. In 2006, Dr. Sherazi completed his postdoctoral work in McGill University, Canada under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Frederik van de Voort. Who is well known scientist in the field of FT-IR Spectroscopy. During postdoctoral study, he got the expertise on FT-IR instrumentation and its application in the field of lipid chemistry. Mainly he worked on assessment of trans fat in the edible oils which is health related startling issue all over the world. Dr. Sherazi presented his research work in 40 International conferences, symposia and workshops and is author of more than 130 research articles published in peer review and high repute impact factor journals. He worked as a Chairman, in committee of vegetable oils and allied products of Pakistan Standard and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA). He is a Member of the Board of Faculty of Natural Sciences, Sindh University, Jamshoro and member of Executive Editorial Board of Pakistan Journal of Chemistry (ISSN (Print / Online): 2220-2625 / 2222-307X as well as Editor of Frontier International Journal. He has one International US patent, 1141 citations and author of two book chapters. He has produced 15 PhD and three M. Phil Students. Dr. Sherazi is continuously receiving Research Productivity Award (RPA) from Pakistan Council of Science and Technology (PCST), Ministry of Science and Technology, Pakistan since 2009. Dr. Sherazi was given Best University Teacher Award in 2013 by Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan on the basis of his best performance in Teaching, Research, Guiding Research Students, Co-curricular activities and Participation in International Conferences, Seminars and Symposia as a speaker. Dr. Sherazi is visiting Professor in McGill University, Canada. In 2014, Dr. Sherazi selected as a Visiting Scientist under TUBITAK 2221 Fellowship for Visiting Scientists and Scientists in Selcuk University, Konya, Turkey.
