Basically a synthetic medicinal chemist, completed PhD in Pharmacy from Birla Institute of Technology in the Title "Design, Synthesis and Pharmacological Screening of Mycobactin Analogues" Area of interest includes Molecular modeling and drug design and synthesis of small molecule heterocycles against targets of therapeutical importance. Molecular modeling includes Structure Based Drug Design (SBDD), Fragment Based Drug Design (FBDD), High-throughput Virtual Screening (HTVS) and Molecular Dynamics (MD). Targets under investigation are (i) Biosynthetic enzymes in the pathway of Mycobactin synthesis-target for anti-tubercular drug design; (ii) Histone deacetylase and Ribonucleotide-anti-cancer; (iii) protease, methyl-transferase & E-protein-anti-viral and (iv) MAO-neurodegenerative disorder. Chemical scaffolds designed: pyrazolines, aminothiazoles, thiosemicarbazones and piperazines.
