About

Dr. Victor Henning is the CEO & Co-Founder of Mendeley and Vice President of Strategy at Elsevier. After launching Mendeley in 2008, he led its growth into a research platform with 3.5 million users in 180 countries and institutional customers including Harvard, Stanford, and MIT. In 2013, Mendeley was acquired by Elsevier, the world’s leading provider of science and health information.

Victor is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, advisor to Downing St. No. 10 on the Tech City Advisory Board, and was voted - alongside his Mendeley co-founders - “Best European Founder 2013” by a panel of leading investors, entrepreneurs, and journalists at The Europas - European Tech Startup Awards. He holds a Ph.D. from Bauhaus-University of Weimar and has published research on consumer decision-making and film industry economics in journals such as the Journal of Marketing, Psychology & Marketing, and Media, Culture & Society.

Also, despite no sign of acting talent, he has an entry in the Internet Movie Database for the memorable role of "Young Man #2".
