Victor Ngo is an urban planner, researcher, and consultant. He is currently a Research Associate in the Health & Community Design Lab and a Research Assistant in the Centre for Urban Economics and Real Estate at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Victor's work focuses on advancing sustainable development in cities and communities through evidence-based and data-driven policy, engagement, and design solutions. He has seven years of interdisciplinary and applied research experience specializing in the areas of climate change mitigation and adaptation, travel behavior and active transportation, sustainable community design and behavior change, and geospatial applications for planning, urban design, and real estate. Victor has advised and collaborated with government, private sector, and community clients and partners. He has international experience working in the Philippines, India, Hong Kong, and Mexico, and has travelled extensively across North America, Europe, and Asia. Born and raised in Vancouver, Victor holds a MA in Planning and a BA in Geography from UBC. His master's research was recognized for outstanding accomplishment in the transportation and sustainability fields, winning best paper award by the Canadian Institute of Transportation Engineers. In his community, Victor is passionate about promoting youth leadership in sustainability and civic affairs, and has served on the UBC Development Permit Board and the Vancouver Foundation's Youth Vital Signs Leadership Council.
