Library Automation Open Source Software Linux Koha

I was born in Changanacherry (Kerala) in 1980. I did Library and Information Science (MLISc) from University of Kerala. I worked with Asian School of Business, Trivandrum for last five years (2005-2010). Currently I work with Mahatma Gandhi University Library, Kottayam. I became a librarian because of the connection with my village library since my childhood. I started my career as volunteer librarian for our village library. Our village library is a community gathering place and business with people from various segments of society was really exciting. I earned graduation in Communicative English from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam in 2001. At this point in my life, I was selected to attend certificate course in Library Science conducted by Kerala State Library Council in 2002. After that, I joined MLISc two year programme in 2003 at University of Kerala. In addition to my work at the Library, I keep in touch with professional friends. I enjoy hearing people and learn new things. I focus my interests in the role of open source and open access movement in libraries. I am a beginner in this profession and want to continually be part of this profession because the future of librarianship is wide open. The power of internet and technology makes this profession very exciting and challenging.
