BSc(Hons) Biological Sciences (Microbiology and Infection)

University of Edinburgh

September 2002 - June 2006(4 years)

I am a PhD student at the University of Warwick and The Roslin Institute, Edinburgh. My project involves developing simulation models of livestock diseases, focusing on footrot in sheep. The models combine demography, epidemiology and host genetics to look at the following things: 1) Interaction between genetics and epidemiology 2) Long term effects of genetic selection for disease resistance 3) The effects of different intervention strategies Prior to undertaking my PhD I completed a BSc(Hons) in Biological Sciences (Microbiology and Infection) at the University of Edinburgh, followed by an MRes in Computational Biology at the University of York. In my spare time I enjoy reading, music and puzzles.
