About

Dr. Vinod Saharan obtained his Master’s in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, India. He has received Israel government fellowship (2003) to study at Ben-Gurion University of Negev, Israel for PhD. Further he did his Post Doc (2007) at Agricultural Research Organization (ARO) Volcani centre, Israel. Since 2007, he is servicing as Scientist at Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur, India. He has guided 12 Master’s student and 5 PhD students. Currently he is working with biopolymer based nano-materials for application in crops for growth and protection. He is reviewer of many Elsevier, Springer and ACS journals. Recently he has published new book on chitosan based nanomaterials for plant protection and growth. He has published 40 research papers and 10 book chapters. He has been invited as speakers in various conferences aboard and attended more 20 international conferences. Recently, he was invited by Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences as a speaker in Nanotechnology conference at Beijing. His lab is one of pioneer in synthesis of chitosan nanomaterials for agriculture. His Laboratory is keen in searching and evaluating plant based components to be exploited in a way as it interface in nature through bio-inspired approaches. His group is intended to pitch the biogenic substances for better use in agriculture by shaping through nanoscience.
