She obtained her BSc. degree from the Universidad Veracruzana (Mexico) and her PhD degree from Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos (Mexico) in 2004. After working at the Roche-Syntex Pharmaceutical for one year, she joined to the Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas (UAZ), as Associate Researcher, and teaching courses of general and organic chemistry and science history. Nowadays, Dra. Flores-Morales is Full Time Researcher at the UAZ. She is the Head Leader of the Laboratory of Asymmetric Synthesis and Bioenergetic (LSAyB). Her research lines focus on generating knowledge in the areas of organic synthesis, isolation and characterization of natural products. Furthermore, she is interested in the medicinal chemical study of synthetic molecules and natural products. She has published papers in prestigious journals, three books and one book chapter. She currently collaborates in research with several groups in universities of Mexico and with the Universidad de la Costa in Barranquilla Colombia.
