I am a lecturer in the Department of Galician Philology at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela and secretary of the Instituto da Lingua Galega (ILG). I graduated in Hispanic Philology (Galician-Portuguese section) in 1988, and obtained a doctorate in 1999. I have formed part of ILG since 1999 and am currently the secretary of this research centre at USC. I am also the co-ordinator of the Galician Philology and Linguistics research group at USC.
My research focuses on the study of linguistic variation, particularly in the areas of syntax and lexicon. I am a member of several research projects relating to language geography, and have been the editor of several monographs related to these research areas. I am a member of the editorial board of the journal Estudos de Lingüística Galega.
