Yolanda Koulouri studied Biology at the University of Patras in Greece and holds both M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Marine Biology and Ecology from the University of Crete (Greece). Since 2001, she has been working as a researcher at the Institute of Marine Biology, Biotechnology & Aquaculture (IMBBC) of the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR) in Crete. She has participated in European and nationally- funded Research projects concerning marine biodiversity, Integrated Coastal Zone Management, marine protected areas (MPAs) and the use of artificial reefs, environmental impact assessments (EIAs), marine pollution monitoring and fishing gear effects.
