Abstract

The first 17O magic-angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance (MAS-NMR) from a carbonate ion in an inorganic compound is reported. The 17O MAS centreband of CaCO3 can be simulated with parameters CQ = 6.97 MHz, η ≈ 1 and an isotropic chemical shift of 204 ppm. © 1995.
