Abstract

The article discusses a study on the pharmacists' use of the microblogging service Twitter. The study determined the number of pharmacists who has Twitter accounts, analyzed their usage characteristics, and examined their professional networking patterns. They found that the number of pharmacists with Twitter accounts has increased from 102 in 2009 to 623 in 2014. Uses of Twitter by pharmacists include for sharing entertainment tweets and for creating mutual connections with other pharmacists.
