Abstract

A novel layered inorganic-organic hybrid polymer, [Cd3(μ3-OH)2(μ2-Cl)2L2(H2O)2] (HL = 4-aminocinnamic acid), with strong blue luminescence has been reported. Its particular arrangement of the Cd(II), Cl-, and OH- forming an infinite one-dimensional inorganic connectivity with the chair-like Cd4Cl2(OH)2 features is a new example of mixed Cd-OH-Cl discrete compounds. © 2007 Elsevier B.V.
