Abstract

The article discusses the need for early detection and intervention services for mental health problems within prisons due to a number of risk factors and the increasing numbers of the prison population. Considered is the proposed changes to prison policy by the Ministry of Justice that includes limited access to cash, requirement of wearing a uniform, and restricted areas for television. Highlighted is psychosis as the key for early detection services in prisons with high prevalence ratings.
