A broadband active noise compressor (ANCP) is presented in this letter to adapt the active noise equalization (ANE) [2], [4], [5] technique suitable for practical usage. Compared to the existing broadband ANE system, the novel ANCP not only has the ability to shape the residual noise spectrum, but can also automatically adjust the residual noise power. This algorithm is analyzed in steady state and verified by computer simulations.
