Abstract

The article discusses the evolution of online education and presents the challenges it posed for business educators. As the demand for the online mode of instruction increases across the U.S. and the world, educators are called upon to respond with courses that are available anytime and anywhere. In online education, teachers are required to learn new technologies, teaching strategies, as well as discover how to transform courses taught in a common classroom setting into an online style of teaching. For business educators, the change in demand of online education, signifies an opportunity for the development of new business competencies. Professors are challenged to take both education and technology to a higher level to develop sufficient online courses.
