Copyright 2004 EEI on STN AB- The application and benefits of hydraulic generators are discussed. It uses vehicle's engine as its main power source, drawing from its horsepower rather than that of an auxiliary engine power source. The lack of a separate engine to drive the generator allows the unit to be mounted almost anywhere, and also reduction in weight and overall size of unit. The maintenance requirements are also reduced, requiring only the need to change hydraulic filters after 200 to 500 hours use, and has stand-alone combustion engine, which burns its own fuel and emissions.
