Central Nervous System Toxicity from Cancer Therapies

Abstract

The CNS is an organ with a unique profile of vulnerability to antineoplastic treatments. In many cases, CNS neurotoxicity is the dose-limiting side effect of treatment for systemic and CNS neoplasms. Novel methods of delivering radiation and chemotherapy agents have led to recognition of new forms of CNS neurotoxicity. In this article, the authors reviewed the most important CNS toxicities of cancer treatment. © 2006 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
