Conduction velocity of the fastest fibers in nerve trunks of the cat and kitten were correlated with the outside diameter of the largest fibers in the trunks. The best curve relating velocity and diameter proved to be a straight line rather than a square or a square-root relationship. This might indicate a relationship between velocity and internodal length as well as diameter.
