Abstract

Risk management in today’s business environment is highly complex and rapidly changing. The traditional risk management approach changed its place by the enterprise risk management which is largely integrated with the corporate governance. The integration between risk management and corporate governance highlights the role of board of directors to determine and effectively manage the risks of corporations. The aim of this paper is to focus on the relationship between corporate governance and risk management and try to link these two significant concepts by the board of directors. We also researched the place of risk management and the board of directors in the Turkish Corporate Governance Principles and disclosed the situation of the Turkish listed companies.
