Abstract

The X-ray crystal structure of anthraquinone-1,5-dithiol has been determined. The compound C14H8O2 S2 is monoclinic in Pc with a = 3.8625(8) Å, b = 10.395(2) Å, c = 13.734(3) Å, β = 93.609(4)°, V = 550.31(19) Å3, Dcalc = 1.643 g/cm3 and Z = 2. The crystal packing scheme indicates a π-π interaction. An intermolecular hydrogen bond of sp2C-H⋯S has been found between the H4 atom and the S2 atom. © 2004 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
