Abstract

Treatment of prostate cancer with SBRT is an area of significant controversy for many in the radiation oncology community despite radiobiologic data that strongly suggest the prostate would be an excellent SBRT target. Recently, new data have emerged that show promising outcomes with minimal toxicity for CyberKnife SBRT of prostate cancer. In the following we present the motivating factors for prostate cancer SBRT followed by a critical evaluation of the current literature and discussion of the future of prostate cancer treatment with SBRT. ©Adenine Press (2010).
